PlayMusic takes the “hard” out of learning music!

Reason #1

PlayMusic isolates each music concept until it is mastered. Traditional piano lessons are taxing for the brain because students are expected to learn seven new things at one time.

Reason #2

PlayMusic begins with xylophones so that students begin with one note or one pitch bar. Students simply strike the bar with the mallet. No fingering or dexterity is needed.

Reason #3

PlayMusic lessons require no lesson plans or preparation. Each video lesson lasts about 15-30 minutes. Older students can move through quickly while younger students are allowed the joy of repetition. It is a self-paced program.

Reason #4

PlayMusic teaches rhythms, counting, note names and 100 songs before moving on to the treble staff. All students have to think about is the name of the note. Songs are already learned and reading rhythms is now easy.

Reason #5

PlayMusic makes a mom’s weekly schedule easier as they travel no further than the living room for a daily music lesson with an expert. No preparation is necessary for each day’s class.

PlayMusic is a 34-week course that can easily be stretched out or shortened to fit your family’s schedule. Kids start playing songs on day one and keep playing songs. Like learning a sport, kids learn by playing the game. Don’t practice. Just play music!

Music is a wonderful thing

Premium PlayMusic Xylophones!

Xylophones are ideal for learning to read music. The xylophone is the easiest and most fun instrument for beginning musicians. Very little learning is needed to master the instrument. Children can play a xylophone as soon as they take it out of the box.

The initial purchase is a Tenor Xylophone, chosen for its size and tone quality. Only premium PlayMusic xylophones are uniquely suited for this course. No other xylophone should be used.

Scales
Scales are easy to build when they are in colors with A, B, C written on them. Key signatures are remembered as they physically change the pitches.

Songs
Early songs are easy to learn when the only pitches on the xylophone are the ones needed for each song.

Chords
Chords are easily understood when students physically build them by choosing every other pitch bar to make a chord.

One pitch songs
The first songs in PlayMusic are played on one pitch bar. Students simply play a rhythm pattern to the sound track.

Is PlayMusic right for you?

Parents we invite you to watch these videos to see a sample of what your children will be learning. Included below is one video from each of the four books in Year One of PlayMusic. These open source videos are presented to help in your decision-making process. Watch them to see how or if they would meet the needs of your family.

PlayMusic is a great first step in any musical education. First learn to read music and then learn an instrument. Students who have learned PlayMusic should be able to progress several years in one year of piano lessons. This saves time and money.
